Patricia Corrigan Culotti
Pat began her studies of traditional Yang-style Tai Chi and Qigong exercises in 1977 under the tutelage of world-renown instructors. Inspired by their wisdom and the healthful benefits of Tai Chi, Pat started to teach Tai Chi herself in 1981. She has been formally certified by Michael Milewski from the T’ai Chi Ch'uan Center of Milwaukee, Master Benjamin Lo of San Francisco, and Master William C. C. Chen of New York.
She is a featured model of tai chi postures for the book Tai Chi Mind and Body by Tricia Yu.
Currently, Pat holds certification as a Master Instructor of Tai Chi Fundamentals®, from Tricia Yu, MA, CTI, allowing her to train and certify others to teach this medically recommended movement system of tai chi. She is a certified Range of Motion (ROM) Dance Instructor through the ROM Dance Network and the Arthritis Foundation, enabling her to work with people of limited capabilities and assisting with their pain management, relaxation, and range of motion. Pat also consults with local hospitals and healthcare organizations to implement these healing arts into mainstream medicine. In addition to her Tai Chi practice, Pat has done extensive research about modern nutritional systems that incorporate ancient Chinese healing philosophies. Since 1997, she has been a Business Leader with Sunrider International, a prominent company specializing in herbal foods, essential oils, eco-friendly cleaning supplies, and skin care products. She is also a certified Chakra Healing and Energy Balancing practitioner and offers treatments at Enhancing Balance.
Pat continues to promote an integrated approach to healing and wellness. She assists her students in making lifestyle changes with the essential goal of “Enhancing Balance.”
Michael Jacob Culotti
Michael has practiced the martial arts since 1975 and was introduced to Tai Chi by Pat in 1987. Since then, Michael has studied Tai Chi under the additional instruction of Masters Benjamin Lo and William C.C. Chen. He attended annual weeklong camps with Master Lo from 1988 until Benjamin’s retirement in 1997. Michael first studied under Master Chen in 1989 and attended his Tai Chi retreat in Maui in 1991. He continues to practice annually with Master Chen.
Currently, Michael is a certified Instructor of Tai Chi Fundamentals® which he earned under the apprenticeship of Pat. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Midwest College for Oriental Medicine with a degree in acupuncture. He then completed his acupuncture training at Guangzhou University in China. As a licensed acupuncturist, Michael helps his patients build their natural immune system, alleviate their pain, and improves their overall wellbeing.
Michael incorporates his background in Tai Chi and his training in trauma counseling into his acupuncture practice, providing gentle, effective treatment for his patients with the essential goal of “Enhancing Balance.”
